Sex, Lies and Videos in Piedmont

This past week Piedmontwatchdog.com (PWD) reported a story about Mari Hopper, the woman who maliciously accused former Piedmont Mayor Mike Fina of getting her pregnant and fired from a job with the Oklahoma State Senate. In that story the PWD provided proof that Hopper had accused two other men in addition to Fina of impregnating her, all the accusations came within a two-year time period. PWD also provided evidence that Hopper forged a doctor’s note to try and validate her pregnancy. Since that story went live the PWD has received numerous leads in regard to Hopper, and in particularly to her connections with Piedmont citizens who actively worked against Fina during his tenure as mayor.
One of those connections is Cindy Cheatwood, who is a Managing Broker with Paradigm AdvantEdge, Realty. At the time of Hopper’s accusations Cheatwood worked for Phil Boevers. You may remember Cindy’s antics as the President of the Piedmont Chamber of Commerce when she accused Fina of cheating at the Chamber’s annual golf tournament or her famous flub of accusing Fina of not possessing a college degree. Both unsubstantiated accusations were made in an ad Cheatwood placed in the Piedmont Gazette. Shortly after Cheatwood’s public gaff she was forced to resign from the chamber in shame, along with the chamber director and two board members.
It appears now, that golf scores and college degrees were not the only accusations Cheatwood was prepared to lodge against the former mayor. As you will see in the video accompanying this story, Cheatwood along with Hopper tried to soil the former mayor’s reputation at an April 2010 Piedmont City Council meeting. Although the image on the video is a bit grainy, Cheatwood’s profile is unmistakable, and Hopper’s attempts to appear pregnant are also somewhat obvious. The problem for Hopper is that she spent the week following the meeting enjoying life out on the town, in full view of the public. At this point I won’t spoil the video.
This video was verified by Piedmont residents who were in attendance at the April 2010 council meeting. It was reported by numerous witnesses that Cheatwood was parading Hopper around like a prized hog at the county fair, introducing her as “the mother of the mayor’s child.”
Knowing that Hopper wasn’t actually pregnant, and Cheatwood’s propensity to attack former Mayor Fina, it begs the question if Cheatwood conspired with Hopper to deceive the public? Cheatwood certainly would have cause, she was not only beaten soundly by more than twenty percentage points in her bid for mayor against Fina, but she also lost by even greater margins to Fina’s father, former Mayor George Fina for a council seat on two separate occasions. Outspoken Cheatwood has never been shy about her documented disdain for the Fina Clan.
We all want to believe that Cheatwood wouldn’t stoop to this level of disgrace, but her past actions especially when it comes to former Mayor Fina have been anything but rational.
